The Man All Hate To Love (FRONTIER #3)
-----------------------------------------
[Max's house in Albuquerque, New Mexico is cluttered with boxes. The decision has been made to uproot from his longtime home of Albuquerque and relocate to Portales, New Mexico where he can be closer to the day to day operations of his career. He has thought about relocating across the pond to make things a little bit easier travel-wise, but in the end he decided to remain in the States. A few hours earlier he decided to give B2 a call to help him pack some things up. After a long wait, Max notices B2's vehicle slowly coming up the wooded driveway. Max walks outside to greet him.]
Max: About damn time..
[B2 gingerly walks out of his vehicle clutching his groin.]
B2: Hey man. Sorry I'm late.
[Max's anger fades from his face.]
Max: Well what the hell happened to you?
[Still clutching his groin, he reaches into his trunk and pulls out a case of peanut butter.]
B2: Let's just say that I'm not as smooth as I was in my youthful years. Some skanks just can't take a compliment. Here, straight from the goober capital of the world.
[B2 hands the case over to Max. It's 12 jars of Sunland Organic Peanut Butter.]
B2: Sunland was trying to get rid of some back stock stuff so I thought I'd grab a case while it was cheap. That's the good stuff man. I eat that shit all the time.
[Max eyes the jars, then looks up at B2.]
Max: Have you been experiencing any other ailments outside of a bruised ball bag and wounded pride?
B2: Well now that you mention it, I have been crapping the colors of the German flag. But I just attribute that to the enchilada plate from El Rancho.
[Max laughs and sets the case down on the ground.]
Max: Might want to schedule another visit to the doc man. Now get your ass in here and help me box up the rest of this crap.
[Brandon walks past Max and into the house. He is shocked at how much packing he had completed since deciding on the move yesterday.]
B2: What all is left to do?
Max: Just the man-cave and kitchen. You tackle the kitchen. I'll take care of everything in the cave.
[As Max heads down the hallway he stops.]
Max: Morrigan paid me a visit at the bar a few weeks ago. She popped in some time after you left....asked me if I would help get her at job at FRONTIER. At the time I told her no, but the more that I think about it....it might be the right thing to do.
[Max turns and looks at B2.]
Max: I did choose this business over her. Maybe by doing this, it will square things up between us.
B2: And I think that would be a big mistake. You know the history we all share. Bringing her into FRONTIER would destroy any chance you may have of ending your career the way you want to. She destroyed any chance of resolution when she nearly ended our careers in MWA. I think that bird has flown.
Max: Yeah...you're probably right.
[Max continues down the hallway.]
Max: Beer is in the fridge, help yourself.
[Before B2 can say anything, Max enters his office area and shuts the door. Inside his man-cave, nearly everything is packed up. All that remains is a desk with his computer, and a box that sits on the desk. He slowly walks up to his desk and sits down.]
Max: Haven't done this in awhile..
[Max opens up his webcam application and hits 'record'.]
How's it going out there in internet land Campainers? I know the last time I recorded a message for you guys the ink wasn't even dry on my MWA contract. But I thought I'd take the time during my move to get on here and send you, the TRUE fans of Maximum Violence and professional wrestling, a message from HQ before we finish packing everything up and head for Portales. I know what you guys are thinking and I'm not about to move to England just yet. I haven't technically had a match under the sole banner of FRONTIER, so I want to be sure that this place is going to treat me right and not leave me out in the cold like some other places. Oh, speaking of the past, check this out.
[Max reaches into the box that was on his desk and pulls out two crystal spires. They are awards that were given out at the 2011 MWA Awards Show. He places one on each side of him and continues.]
Nearly a year late, but it's the thought that counts after all. If you read closely, one says "2011 Rising Star" and "2012 Should Be Their Year". I can remember when I was told that I had won these two prestigious awards and I would be lying if I said that I wasn't pleased at the time. The Rising Star award was a given. Even at 39, I was MWA's beacon of hope as they struggled with a below-par roster and wrestling shows that would make you pass out quicker than an English literature lecture in high school. But that award isn't the one that gives me a chuckle, it's this one.
[He reaches for the other award and cradles it in his arms as if it were a newborn baby.]
This award meant that they felt I would take them to the next level. First half of 2012 if MWA was coming to your town, you could bet that Maximum Violence was going to be on the card and it was a guarantee that you were going to get your money's worth that night. Even as much as they tried to hold me back, I delivered on every level. I brought that place back from the brink of death and made it respectable. I remember I had to cut through so much red tape just to get the most minimal things done.
Let's just say the management wasn't all that great.
It's funny how things like this come full circle. One day, you are battling management to get things done. The next day you are actually battling management. Granted, CJ Osbourne was defeated by Gabriella Gambino and dethroned from his position of power some time ago, it doesn't change the fact that he made things pretty difficult for me when I demanded change. The man threatened me with suspension after suspension if my tone didn't have that respect he felt he deserved. I even championed the idea of Maximum Violence battling the mythic figurehead of the MWA, Jackie Sweets.
He wouldn't even give me the man's number...had to do it all through him. Well, we see what Jackie is accomplishing in MWA now because I stoked the fire back under his name and Sweets-Violence is now filed under "Should Have Happened".
CJ always touted that he would do what was best for business. Every time I have heard that phrase uttered, things have gone from bad to worse. If that match or idea wasn't going to pad the pockets of the higher-ups, then it had no place on the table. After a couple choice words from yours truly, I decided to let the matter rest because I knew I'd have my chance down the road to extract some well deserved revenge from CJ, and now that opportunity has been afforded me. It's been a while since the rest of the world has had their opportunity to watch what I do best live, but I guarantee you guys that it will be well worth the wait.
It has always been my mission to weed out the weak and make whatever company I'm working for one of the top organizations in the land. And it is time for me to go to work for you, the wrestling fans. Whether you loved me or hated me, you all knew that I delivered on any promise or guarantee that I made while on this Campain. If I told you that I was going to destroy the person people were foolish enough to place in front of me, I did it. And now, with you all in mind, I am going to make this guarantee to you all. When CJ Osbourne faces me in Wolverhampton, I am going to break him. After all is said and done and my hand is raised, CJ is going to realize that his time in FRONTIER is drawing to a close and that he should just turn tail and dust off that suit he has in the closet and return to a life behind a desk.
There are many names on my list of people that have tried to put a halt to the good work I am doing here. After CJ's name is struck from the list, I'll be paying some visits to others that are on that list. It starts with CJ...and it ends with Gabriel Gambino.
Don't worry Talbot...I haven't forgotten about you either.
Well gang, I'll try to do this more as time allows. Be sure to tune in...The Campain is about to run through FRONTIER.
[With that said, Max stops recording and uploads the video to his website. Max shuts down his computer and sits for a moment, staring at the two MWA awards. He grabs them and places them in the same box as all his other past accolades and leaves the room to finish packing.]
